Dinosaur Designs celebrates 30 years with Rainforest collection
Iconic Australian brand Dinosaur Designs is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a new collection, Rainforest.
Known for chunky, hand crafted resin jewellery and homewares, Dinosaur Designs co-creative directors Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy often reference nature and the Australian landscape in their designs.
For Rainforest, the pair drew inspiration from the vibrant forest ecosystem of birds, flowers, seeds, earth and stones. This is reflected in the collection through colour, from the earthy tones of the forest floor to the greens of the canopy.
“Nature has always been a core inspiration,” explains Olsen. “It seemed fitting that a collection inspired by rainforests—a lush environment full of wonder and life—should mark our anniversary.”
The collection includes delicate jewellery with gold and brass accents, while the homewares range is dominated by large scale bowls, platters, servingware and the brand’s signature pebble pepper grinder, for the first time accompanied by a salt grinder.
In keeping with Olsen and Ormandy’s passion for nature, a percentage of the collection’s sales will go towards the Australian Conservation Foundation to support its Great Dividing Range campaign.
All Dinosaur Designs silver jewellery and resin products are handmade in the brand’s Sydney studio. Along with its flagship stores, its pieces are stocked in boutiques across Australia, the US, the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
Rainforest is available online and in Dinosaur Designs’ Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, New York and London stores now.
