Winners announced at 2011 Australian Toy Hobby and Nursery Fair
the lucky winners of the 2011 australian toy hobby and nursery fair were announced late last week, with a wide variety of products and brands taking out the top gongs across a dozen different categories.
the australian toy hobby and nursery fair aims to provide an environment to display, promote, demonstrate and sell toys, games, hobbies, nursery products and licenses from around the world to retailers, wholesalers, media, government, promoters and marketers.
the fair provides the annual focus for the industry to come together as a region to promote the positive benefits to children and families of toys, games and hobbies.
the lego ninjago starter set won both toy of the year and boys’ toy of the year, while the zhu zhu puppy range took out the top honour for girls’ toy of the year.
pre-school toy of the year went to the spiro bouncer seesaw for toddlers and the logo board game was awarded the winner of the games toy of the year category.
complete with motorbike sound effects, the nitro aluminium scooter landed top place in the outdoor toy of the year category while the whipple cupcake set was awarded the craft activity toy of the year.
the licensed products of the year category and girls’ licensed product went to mega blocks dora’s vacation bus, while the boys’ licensed product award was bequeathed to the moshi monster range.
lego also won the pre-school licensed product category and hobby product of the year went to diamond micro helicopter, while nursery product of the year was won by edtoy eva soft blocks.
the monkey wise activity set was awarded educational toy of the year and the australian development award went to credz collectable coins.
the 2012 australian toy hobby and nursery fair will be held from march 8 to 11 at the melbourne convention & exhibition centre.
