Whitehill acquires The Russell Collection
After more than 25 years in the gift and homewares industry, The Russell Collection has been taken over by another long-standing business.
As of 1 September, the Australian giftware company is under ownership of Whitehill after the business was sold to the wholesaler.
The Russell Collection is a specialist gift, home and glassware importer in Australia and was run by brothers Will and Andrew MacMahon.
Well known in the gift industry for its coloured glass figurines and sculptures, each piece is a unique artwork crafted by skilled artisans. The Russell Collection’s ranges also include vast offerings of occasion-specific giftware in glass, pewter and silver plate.
“It has been a very successful handover and Whitehill has taken over some staff, so the transition so far has been running very smoothly,” says Will.
The Russell Collection is a great fit for Whitehill, which has had a presence in the gift and homewares industry for more than 40 years with its dinnerware, glassware and giftware collections.
Besides the acquisition of The Russell Collection, Whitehill also added two new brands to its portfolio this year including Deluxe Home art from Denmark and Designers Guild from London.
