Wayne Castle resigns as AGHA CEO
After eight years of successfully leading the AGHA and organising the gift fairs, Wayne Castle is leaving the association.
AGHA president, Dean Osmond, says Castle’s contribution to the association can’t be understated.
“Wayne has been our guiding light in achieving organisational stability and in particular, staging our many successful trade fairs,” he says.
“Wayne was instrumental in helping us navigate the challenges of Covid and in successfully re-starting our trade fair program. We will be forever grateful for Wayne’s guidance, particularly during this difficult period. Please join me in thanking Wayne for his contribution and in wishing him all the best for the coming years.”
Castle’s right-hand woman, event operations manager Amy Wallace, will also be leaving AGHA to pursue an events opportunity in Queensland.
Following Castle’s resignation, the AGHA board has appointed Linda Hickey, who brings a wealth of experience in general management as well as sales and marketing at companies such as Independence Studios and IsAlbi, to the role.
“In the coming months, as Linda settles into the CEO role the AGHA board, working closely with the whole AGHA team, will be carefully considering all options for enhancing our business future,” Osmond adds.
Castle will be leaving at the end of this month. The Sydney Gift Fair is held from 18 to 21 February 2023.
