Villeroy & Boch launches Animals of the World collection
European ceramic brand Villeroy & Boch has given new life to its bestselling range, the NewWave Caffé coffee series, with the launch of a design inspired by the splendour and variety of wildlife from across the globe.
Beginning with four patterns, the Animals of the World collection features birds from different continents including the Kingfisher from Europe and Asia, the bright orange Bee-Eater from southern Europe, the brown-throated Conure seen in Venezuela and Colombia, and the pink Flamingo from Africa and India.
“With the beauty and radiance of nature in view, we created a colourful décor, which looks as if it were painted by hand in luxuriant watercolours,” explains global PR manager, tableware, Jessika Maria Rauch.
“The new look of NewWave Caffé binds the trendy topics of coffee and nature together. These cups, available in different sizes with coordinated plates, will fascinate not just coffee aficionados but also nature lovers and design conscious collectors from all over the world.”
Previous NewWave Caffé collections have featured different cities, bringing together a love of travel and exploration, and the series has become a design icon thanks to the characteristically curved handle on the cups.
Made of premium porcelain, the Animals of the World collection features a coffee cup, café au lait cup, two mugs and assorted plates that are all dishwasher and microwave safe.
Four new animal designs will debut in 2016.
