Villa Mondo launches quirky bath brand
Bluebird bath products are now available in Australia after Villa Mondo unveiled the brand at the Melbourne Reed Gift Fair.
The Adelaide based wholesaler has chosen to release 36 of the 100 plus products from the North California brand as many relate to Americanisms. Each bath salt packet features a vintage image on the front and story on the back.
The designs are humorous and fun and reflect daily life with titles such as Hate Housework and Eat Cake Sistah chosen for the Australian market. Fragrances include grapefruit and ginger and warm vanilla.
“On a recent trip to the US, I met with several of our suppliers who spoke about complimentary brands that their US distributors had been working with,” says Wendy Fry, Villa Mondo national sales manager. “There were several that we would like to have taken on, however, Bluebird provided a witty and inexpensive gift opportunity that we thought would instantly appeal to our customers.
“Philosophically, the product and packaging are as simple and natural as possible. The product is very simple, made entirely by her small company, using only sea salt, Epsom salts, baking soda and highest quality fragrance. The packaging is simple, using recycled paper stock, soy based inks and the minimal amount of packaging.”
Fry adds that Bluebird products are perfect for any occasion that requires a little gift to convey a sentiment. The brand complements Villa Mondo’s growing range of bath and body labels. It also released many other new products at the gift fair.
“Michel Design Works alone has over 120 new items in Vineyard, Currant, Secret Garden, Farmers Market, Sleigh Ride and White Christmas fragrance and design themes as well as introducing new aprons, oven gloves and pot holders. Add these to our new Hydra Aromatherapy range of shower bursts and bath bombs, Bluebird bath products and our new wine glass writers for fabulous decorating fun – we have a lot to look forward to.”
