Adelaide based wholesaler Villa Mondo has signed on as the exclusive Australian distributor for Alassis candles and home fragrance to enhance its candle offering.
The premium brand is created by Mei Xe, the co-founder of Chesapeake Bay Candle Company, and aims to combine visual art – in the form of hand blown, artisanal glass vessels – with layered scents for a sensory experience.
“The fragrances are really magnificent and the candles look great burning,” says Wendy Fry, Villa Mondo owner. “We had a couple going on in the office and a lady came in to buy wine glasses but walked out with candles and melts.”
Alassis ArtGlass candles come in 12 colour and fragrance combinations across single, double, triple wick soy wax candles as well as votives, melts and reed diffusers. Fragrances include cobalt water/driftwood and bamboo/eucalyptus. Seasonal designs are also available.
The addition of the brand to Villa Mondo’s portfolio adds another dimension to the company’s candle offering, which will suit a wider range of customers.
“For many years Villa Mondo has offered the very successful Michel Design Works range of candles in an ever changing array of beautiful, intricate designs with matching soaps, body lotions, napery trays and napkins,” adds Fry. “However, some of our customers prefer a more contemporary look and we believe we have found the perfect partner to complement our existing lines.”
Alassis candles and home fragrance will be launched at the Melbourne Reed Gift Fair in August.
