Two new brands from Jones & Co
Jones & Co, the company behind popular label Have You Met Miss Jones (Miss Jones), will launch two new brands at the Home & Giving Fair this August.
Inspired by beautiful holiday destinations in South East Asia, Lucky Ocean Club features hand carved wooden pieces, glazed servingware, beaded cushions, shell mirrors and crosses, basket ware, and modern capiz flatware. According to Jennifer Jones, Jones & Co owner and founder, the brand is about bringing the relaxing nature of being on holiday into homes.
“Retailers will love being able to recreate the global collector look in their stores, and for customers it’s a way of bringing some resort luxe into their home without having it carry it home themselves,” she says.
The second brand, Mr Green Grass, caters to the growing trend of bringing the outside in and was developed after success with planter pots from Miss Jones. “Our customers wanted to see more from us in this space so Mr Green Grass was born,” explains Jones. “We will carry unique pots and accessories… that will showcase plants in a way that is contemporary and fresh for our customers.”
While the new brands are separate from Miss Jones ranges, Jones says they all work under the Jones & Co umbrella and reflect the company’s aesthetic—playful design that doesn’t take itself too seriously, with a high level handmade quality and finish. She is eager to introduce retailers to the brands at the fair and celebrate the company’s hard work.
“We’re really excited to see [retailers’] faces when they visit the new stands. We work hard to be able to present something new and fresh at each fair, so the most thrilling part is when our customers come and see the new collections,” she says. “We think they’re going to fall in love with the new worlds we’ve created.”
The Miss Jones brand will also be showcasing three new collections, one based on space and astronomy with nebulous glazes, spherical shapes and star mapped pottery; a mid-century pool party inspired range with swimming pool tiled vases; and a range that is all things Pop Art, including graphic patterns, bold colours and hand painting.
Like all Jones & Co collections, the new Miss Jones ranges have been inspired by fashion, the arts, travel and the natural world, as well as demand from customers.
“We listen to our stockists and the feedback they give us on what their customers are asking them for in store,” says Jones. “Of course, what we are coveting and looking for in the marketplace but can’t find also plays into creating any new line at Jones & Co.”
With so many projects on the go, Jones says a consistent challenge is knowing when to say no to good ideas. “We’re a team of enthusiastic people and we often want to do it all. The real challenge is knowing when to say no or not yet instead of yes.
“We celebrate even the smallest successes, as we know we are so lucky to be able to do what we love.”
