Trend alert: timber
Timber has long been a staple in Australian homes, not just as a construction material but as furniture, flooring and home décor. To celebrate this enduring love affair, Feast Watson has launched a design guide showing how timber can be incorporated into some key trends for 2016-17: raw & true, northern lights, and back to the future.
The brand invited interior designers and stylists Aimee Tarulli, Kimberley Wiedermann and Chris Carroll to put their own personal spin on the trends, and the results are pretty special.
Check out what they came up with for some interiors inspiration for your store (and to pass on to your customers).
Raw & true
Interior stylist Tarulli made timber the hero of her designs with textured accessorised like chunky knitted throws, hessian cushions and leather adding a sense of warmth. She also used native flora to evoke a sense of Australiana.
Back to the future
Wiedermann—known for her creative interiors—was inspired by Palm Springs when putting together back to the future. Paying homage to mid-century design, she mixed pops of colour in with muted neutrals.
Northern lights
Stylist and blogger Carroll stripped the extremely popular Scandi trend back to basics for northern lights, exploring the crisp minimalism of the style. Layers of white were contrasted with blacks and inky blues, while a dusting of blush pink keeps things fresh.
