Sydney based retailer top3 by design has crossed the border opening its first store outside New South Wales due to popular demand.
Owner Terri Winter found the perfect location at 36 Toorak Rd, South Yarra which had a combination of local feel, large floor plan and matched the store’s personality.
“Top3 by design has been running over 12 years in Sydney and we receive calls daily from Melbourne customers asking when we will open there – or often they simply ask where our Melbourne store is, assuming we already have one,” she says.
The new store will have the same shop fitout and products as the Sydney stores and a similar size to the Moore Park location. Top3 aims to have a seamless link between all bricks and mortar stores and online.
“We aim to be consistent between all of our stores and our online store as well. A true omni channel experience so that you can go online and see if it is at your ‘local’ store or visit the store and then go online knowing you can get the item you saw.”
Changes have been made to the website backend so things can still be handled by the central office while the local manager controls their store. Winter will also be based in Melbourne for the first month before using Skype voip phone calls and a camera system to keep track.
“We have already had a wonderful response and we are not open yet, so fingers crossed we will start off strongly given we have over a decade of online customers that we hope will come in and say hi.”
