Sylvanian Families celebrates 30 years
Iconic toy brand Sylvanian Families is celebrating its 30th birthday with two new ranges, Country Tree School and Field View Mill.
Born in Japan in 1985, Sylvanian Families encourages children to use their imagination with its collectible range of woodland animals including families of rabbits, cats, bears and hedgehogs. The creatures, which are now available in over 40 countries, promote the brand’s key themes of nature, family and love.
The toys are distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Modern Brands. “Sylvanian Families is a toy that never grows old and provides hours of endless imaginative play,” says Tim Clarke, manager at Modern Brands.
“It’s also a toy range loved by a wide spectrum of people from collectors, parents and children of all ages.”
Houses and furniture for the figurines are also available, and many customers have created Sylvanian villages out of their extensive collections.
With over 120 million figures sold worldwide—a rate of about three toys per second since launching—the brand’s popularity has seen the development of a Sylvanian Families theme park, flagship stores and restaurants.
Other anniversary celebrations include in store character appearances and a national competition to unearth Australia’s biggest Sylvanian Families fan.
