Stroller gets the Viktor&Rolf treatment
dutch company bugaboo has teamed up with fashion designers viktor&rolf to create a stroller with the essence of owning a first car.
the exclusive limited edition, bugaboo cameleon3, has been given signature car trademarks by the duo who are renowned for their avant-garde couture creations.
named my first car, the stroller has mono-colour anodised grey chassis, grey classic sports car style fabric, a leather look canopy, leather-look wheel skin and rear silver alloy wheels with the iconic viktor&rolf emblem. it also has a custom-made number plate.
“working on this collaboration with bugaboo was a creative challenge for us as it’s out of our immediate design sphere, which always proves to be interesting as you can think about objects differently,” say viktor horsting and rolf snoeren, viktor&rolf founders.
“in doing so, we envisioned a my first car bugaboo – a luxurious and innovative vehicle that is the ultimate in mobility design. there’s a slightly ironic and unexpected twist as this bugaboo takes to the open road – but we love the idea of any design object being transformative.”
bugaboo has previously collaborated with missoni, marc jacobs, paul frank and bas kosters.
“we are extremely proud of the result of our collaboration,” adds bugaboo chief marketing officer madeleen klaasen. “with my first car, viktor&rolf have added ingenuity and originality to the modern lifestyle and mobility of parents today. we love how they both literally and figuratively turn what’s expected upside down. that creative imagination complements our products and our brand perfectly.”
the bugaboo cameleon3 is available in australia from september 2012.
