Dubbed the unofficial fragrance of deforestation, the team behind Who Gives A Crap is introducing Le Loo No. 2, the brand’s first-ever luxurious candle.
Shedding a light on the toilet paper industry’s deforestation problem, the limited edition candle is an invitation to take a deep breath and savour the scent, because soon there won’t be any trees left and the candle will be all we have, according to the brand.
“A lot of people don’t realise they are contributing to climate change every time they use the bathroom,” says Simon Griffith, Who Gives A Crap’s CEO and co-founder.
“That’s why we made Le Loo No. 2—we want more people to know how terrible traditional TP is for the environment. We know it’s a bit depressing, which is why we want our candle to be a source of light.”

“The scent of pine, cedar and moss might be nice in a candle, but in reality they’d be a whole lot more useful if they stayed where they belonged—in forests. Trees are some of our most precious natural resources—they keep soil healthy, support complex ecosystems and keep dangerous carbon dioxide from destroying our atmosphere,” adds Griffith.
The 500ml candle has an 80-hour burn time and comes with fragrant notes of ‘cedar, smoke, moss and climate change’. Le Loo is a micro edition and therefore only a very small number of candles will be sold and is expected to sell out in a matter of weeks. Recommended retail price is $40.

As with all Who Gives A Crap products, 50 per cent of profits will be donated to clean water and sanitation non-profits worldwide.
