Skipping Girl re-launches
iconic bag brand skipping girl will re-launch with an online store and a collection of its classic designs.
founded in 1998 the woven tote bag was sold both in australia and overseas and even spotted on the arm of celebrities such as madonna and nicole kidman.
“it’s such a unique iconic brand and we decided that now was the perfect time to refresh the label and re-launch with a new online store,” says anna lutkajtis, skipping girl director. “now, more than ever, people are looking for beautiful design that stands the test of time and that is affordable.”
the superstars collection is like skipping girl’s greatest hits and features the cherry tote. two sizes are available, classic and carryall.
“we wanted to re-launch with a collection of favourite designs that reminded everyone of the history of the label and what skipping girl is all about – fun, iconic, timeless design. the classics range contains some of the best-loved styles that people keep asking for over the years and we wanted to make these available again to both our long-time fans and our new audience.”
it is hoped longtime fans of the brand will respond well to the brand entering the digital age with an online store and social media presence while a new generation is exposed to the designs for the first time.
skipping girl plans to add new designs to the range after the re-launch.
“initially we will be focusing on the woven totes, and going forward we will add new sizes and styles to the range. we have also planned some limited edition collaborations with australian fashion designers and artists. there are many creative possibilities,” adds lutkajtis.
