Retailer teams up with emerging Aussie artists for new teaware range
When it comes to the designs of its teas and teawares, T2 Tea is all about doing things differently while creating exciting opportunities for local artists.
In 2021 the retailer asked emerging Aussie artists to design a mug that illustrates their ‘brighter more positive future’.
This month the Melbourne-based brand announced the four winning ‘Kiss The Future Hello’ designs from Elaine Li, Tammy Zhang, Sian Downey and Alexandra Truong featuring bold colours and futuristic designs.
T2’s head of buying, Wendy Byrne, says the company aims to encourage young designers’ creativity and imagination.
“T2 takes pride in being an advocate for emerging artists by offering new and exciting creative opportunities,” she enthuses.
“T2 is all about doing things differently and the purpose-driven ‘Kiss The Future Hello’ competition is a fresh and innovative approach to teaware design.”
The winning designs have been printed on fine bone china mugs, finished with 24k gold details and paired with a stainless-steel infuser.
“Alongside our creative lead, Matt Larkin, we reviewed every submission in great detail to select these four amazing artists and their incredible creations. We’re excited to see these beautiful designs in our stores and offer customers a unique take on a brighter, more positive future.
“T2 is also proudly promoting the four artists and their work including international exposure via its channels.”
The mugs retail for $42 and are available now.
