In a move that will ruffle some feathers in the industry, Reed Gift Fairs has decided to no longer run Retail Quarter Sydney, which is held in September each year.
The decision comes after feedback from both wholesalers and retailers. Exhibition director, Vicki Rossi, says they can now focus exclusively on their remaining three events.
“It was a difficult decision to remove Retail Quarter Sydney from our portfolio,” she says.
“However, we will push further our commitment to improving your experience at our events―Retail Quarter Melbourne, Reed Gift Fairs Sydney February and Reed Gift Fairs Melbourne August―by showcasing the very best brands and products.”
There is some good news though, with Fair Events taking over the fair, which was formerly known as Sydney September. The company intends to continue to run a gift and homewares event in Sydney alongside the International Jewellery Fair at the ICC from 2020.
“We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has been part of Retail Quarter Sydney over the years, including you, our retailers,” Rossi says.
