Polli expands apparel offering
Australian made fashion brand, Polli, has stepped up its apparel offering with the addition of dresses, leggings and new materials after a small launch of tops and scarves last year.
Polli unveiled the new pieces at Life Instyle Sydney, providing retailers with the opportunity to stock more than just their signature jewellery designs.
“The response to our initial spring/summer collection was great,” says Tess Lloyd, Polli designer. “It helped our existing stockists carry a bigger Polli story within their stores and allowed us to stock new stockists who now only carry our clothing. We learnt a lot from the first collection about fabric choices, prints, cuts and price points.”
The latest range means customers can now create complete outfits from Polli clothing.
“The A-line ‘Clouds’ dress was a standout at the February show and is a classic garment styled from a 50s design. It features a boat neck, caped sleeves, elastic waist covered by a waist tie and side pockets. We worked closely with a local pattern maker who helped create interesting and flattering fits.
“Designing for autumn/winter we worked with an autumnal colour palette of inky blue, koi red, powder blue, mustard and blush. The prints were based around the idea of seasons with cloud and rain graphics featuring heavily both in the digital and screen printed designs.”
Polli plans to continue experimenting with apparel designs – possibly a range of screen printed skirts – and working with textile suppliers near their inner west Sydney studio to keep production local.
