OneWorld launches new rattan collection
Homewares supplier OneWorld Collection is going Dutch with Elements, the latest addition to its extensive portfolio.
Spotted in a retail store in Indonesia a few years ago, OneWorld managing director, Greg Ollerhead, says he really loved the look and feel of the Elements rattan items.
“The products are very carefully created from materials that are sustainable and chemical free,” he explains.
“We use recycled teak in all the wood and the Dutch designs are on trend but quite timeless too.”
Ollerhead trialled a few pieces of the range over the last year with great success, so it seemed logical to offer the lifestyle brand in its full form to Australia.
“The synergy is perfect with our current ranges―the high-end coastal look with a relaxed feel fits perfectly with our collections.”
If the initial indications are correct Ollerhead feels this brand could be huge in Australia. “The price points are good and the quality is amazing as the range is manufactured all in-house within the factory that owns the brand.
“The range is really big so we are starting with the most popular selling items in Europe and then throwing in a few that will suit the Australian market really well.
“The brand has now grown so fast that they are showing at the Paris fair this month and have opened in five countries already.”
OneWorld will launch the range at Reed Gift Fair in February with stock being available from April.
Over the last 12 months or so, the company has experienced a re-birth of sorts, says Ollerhead. “We are focusing this year on what we do best like furniture and lighting. We have just leased an additional warehouse and currently have over 350 sofas in stock right now.
“We now operate in Australia, New Zealand and the US and we are trying hard to focus on design within our company, which is important to what we do. We want to bring good quality, well priced style to the world.”
