Many small businesses have seen their profits significantly decline while others have had to (temporarily) shut their doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
When Aussie business owners, Jen and Ewen Hollingsworth, noticed what was happening they realised they had to do something to support small business. Hence Vouch For You was born.
“The health impact of Covid-19 is of course the paramount concern across society, however, both Ewen and I have watched the announcements [over the last few weeks] and felt so awful for small businesses everywhere,” says Jen.
“I called a few of the businesses I regularly use and offered to pre-pay for services to help them out. As we watched the initial announcements, we knew there had to be a way to help on a larger scale―we built the Vouch For You landing page that night.”
Vouch For You is an online voucher marketplace, connecting businesses of all types and categories including home + kitchen, pets, and kids and baby with customers by offering pre-paid discounted vouchers for goods and services. The platform is not a charity, it simply offers direct cash flow to small businesses at a time when they need it most.
“We built this for the thousands of businesses across Australia who rely on the regular customers through the door and are now faced with ongoing bills and expenses that they cannot cover.”
Vouch For You connects businesses with their loyal customer base and allows them to be seen by new customers looking for a great deal.
Both e-commerce and bricks-and-mortar stores can use the Vouch For You platform as well as those who already offer vouchers and those who want to start.
“We see it as the Airbnb for small business. In the same way as a hotel in Orange might already have their own online presence but post themselves on Airbnb for the additional exposure―we provide that same exposure and marketing to small businesses of all types.”
At the end of the day, Vouch For You is about real people helping real people and both Jen and Ewen believe in human kindness, loyalty and the power of society when we come together to fight something that is beyond us.
