Move launches expansion with second store opening
Fashion inspired technology brand Move has unveiled its second store in the Melbourne Emporium on Lonsdale Street following the debut of the first of its kind store in Sydney late last year.
The store offers computers, mobile devices and accessories with a fashion edge for consumers looking to have technology with individuality and style.
Australian fashion designer Dion Lee launched his limited edition smart phone and tablet covers as part of the Melbourne store opening. They feature soft lamb’s leather, coated Zircon Linen and screen-printed neoprene. Lee co-developed the products with Move, which is also the exclusive stockist.
“Being able to combine technology and fashion in a way that remains stylish and functional is something I’ve always wanted to achieve,” he says. “My collaboration with Move has enabled me to test out ways of doing this and has resulted in products that I’m really proud to include as part of my latest collection.”
The Melbourne Move store also has a range of products curated by local fashion blogger Jasmin Howell inspired by the theme Capture the City to celebrate all things Melbourne.
Move stores are backed by consumer tech experts Dick Smith but targets a new audience. “There is no doubt that Move benefits from Dick Smith’s years of experience in the retail space,” says Michael Dykes, director of customer strategy and Move stores. “However, Move is pioneering the growth of style inspired technology in Australia, attracting customers who are interested in wearing technology rather than simply using it.”
Move plans to continue its expansion with further store openings in Victoria and Queensland.
