Mes Homewares expands recycled paper collection
Following the success of its recycled paper photo frames, Mes Homewares has launched a wider collection of products in the same style.
The wholesaler was introduced to the designs by an associate in Vietnam and has teamed up with the factory again to add placemats, bowls, boxes, mirrors and vases to the range, which also includes Christmas decorations.
“The minute we saw the decorations we fell in love with them ourselves,” says Claire Smith, director Mes Homewares. “They were something different we had not seen before. The factory uses recycled paper to manufacture all types of products. We thought we would start with the decorations because we liked them so much and couldn’t resist them.”
Smith believes the popularity of the range lies in its unique, quirky look with retailers appreciating the handcrafted style of the products.
“Nearly everyone that walked by the stand had to touch the product, especially the Christmas decorations and coasters. People were describing the round mirror as resembling slice boiled lollies. I love to see people have the same reaction as we did when we first saw the product.”
Mes Homewares plans to continue expanding the range with more recycled paper products planned for 2015.
