Make Me Iconic creates a sensation with new Sydney-inspired product range
make me iconic, the company that reinterpreted the humble souvenir and gave designer homewares a run for their money after releasing a melbourne-inspired product range, has unveiled a sydney collection with great success.
hot off the press, make me iconic's new sydney-centric product range joins the company's inaugural collection of melbourne-inspired homewares that were released just over a year ago by creative entrepreneur natasha skunca.
"we launched the sydney range at life instyle in sydney in february and have had a great response," says skunca.
"all of our customers were excited to see what the sydney range would look like and they were happy with the results."
skunca established make me iconic in late 2009 to salute the icons of australian cities with style and create souvenirs with a fashionable and contemporary edge.
her company uses the unique landmarks and recognised symbols of various metropolises as inspiration for collections of premium souvenirs, designer homewares, artwork and accessories.
the new sydney collection includes cushions, framed artworks and tea towels that feature the sydney harbour bridge, sydney opera house, the famed bondi pavilion and the city's rail map.
"as we all know, sydney is very glamorous and nothing beats that harbour view, so their icons were better known and less unsung than melbourne's," skunca explains.
"sydney is all about the opera house and harbour bridge, let's face it. their icons are known worldwide so we had to include them in the range."
make me iconic has set its sights further afield for future collections, assuming a global rather than national focus.
"we are thinking more international next time and have been on holiday recently taking photos of potential new icons – but you may have to wait and see what city will be next."
