Kids Concept Sweden now available in Australia
Scandinavian children’s brand, Kids Concept Sweden, is now available in Australia through wholesaler Childish Things.
The label offers wooden toys and furniture in typical Scandinavian style. Think timeless, high quality pieces in pastels and neutrals.
Childish Things founder Amy Mavrantzas had been running the business as a retail store for over a year when she discovered Kids Concept, and knew she had to bring it down under.
“I love quality products and unique designs so I tend to keep my eye on brands that I like,” she says. “Kid’s Concept was one that I couldn’t believe had no representation in Australia.”
She initially spoke to the company about stocking the brand but, having previous experience in wholesale, eventually decided to take on the Australian distribution.
Childish Things has quickly grown to become the Australian distributor of other kids’ labels including Polish brand Up! Warsaw, which offers handmade room decor and US clothing label Mini Shatsu.
“As a retailer I was stocking both brands in my store and absolutely loved the quality of them,” says Mavrantzas. “Every brand we represent complements the others in some way.
“I am ultra-aware of the ‘fast fashion’ culture and overuse of throwaway materials. I am old enough to remember hand-me-downs and toys that lasted years and I want Childish Things to offer unique products made of quality materials that will last the test of time—and toddlers. All of our brands are ones I would personally recommend.”
