Kelly & Sam to make trade fair debut
Animal-themed product brand, Kelly & Sam, will make its first trade fair appearance since launching with a stand at the Sydney February Home & Giving Fair.
The Kelly & Sam range includes tote bags, cosmetic bags, coin purses and scarves. It is also the distributor for San Francisco Umbrella Company’s animal-themed umbrellas.
“The Kelly & Sam business grew substantially in 2013,” says Lara Tweedie, director. “Our growth in the gift sector last year was organic and we developed some great relationships in the industry.
“The response from the retailers who decided to carry our products has been really positive and many re-ordered numerous times during the season. Given the initial response we have had, exposing our products to the rest of the industry just made good business sense.”
Inspired by Tweedie’s black Labrador Kelly and golden Labrador Sam, the label also has its roots in Tweedie’s interactions with fellow animal lovers in her veterinarian work.
“I had always wanted to work in a design related field and I was fortunate enough to have some great advice from a friend who has been really successful in the gift industry. Her advice set me on the right path towards developing relationships with quality, reliable suppliers. The work done in those early days has proven invaluable as the business has grown.”
Kelly & Sam’s products are aimed at contemporary home and gift and specialty boutique stores that reflect the brand. Retail price points range from $14.95 to $69.95.
“Overall, I have found the gift industry as a whole to be really welcoming and progressive. So, to be honest, I’m just looking forward to meeting some really nice people.”
