If it’s going to get wet, it should be waterproof. If it’s going to get sandy, it should be able to be hosed off. If it’s going to be thrown about on beach days, sports fields, shopping trips, by kids and in the boot of the car, it should be extremely durable.
These were the thoughts of Chanel Davidson, a Sydney mum of three, when she launched the Amelia Lane beach bags.
“Amelia Lane has been in business for over 10 years, but we’ve pivoted a few times since launching—from only stationery products to the wide range of beach, baby and home products we have now,” she explains.
“Every product I’ve launched has come about as a result of a challenge I was facing in my own life and wanting a more simple, effective and stylish solution. So our new collection of beach bags was inspired by the mouldy, damp fabric bag I was using for beach days and kids swimming lessons and needing something waterproof, durable and easy to clean.”
Made out of the same material as Crocs shoes, the beach bag is washable, kid-proof and tip-proof. Tough enough for high kid contact and light enough to tote all day, you can simply throw everything in and hose it out when the day’s done. With four patterns and three sizes, there is a bag for everyone, Davidson adds.
“I have never been so excited about a new product,” she enthuses.
“Our beach bags are the most useful and practical product. They are family-sized so they fit all the things, waterproof so they can sit in a puddle by the pool and all the beach sand can get hosed off at the end of the day, and they are so durable. They stand upright and come in a variety of bright colourways and limited edition prints which our brand is loved for.
“Ultimately, they are just so versatile—they will quickly become your go-to bag for all kinds of adventures. From muddy sports days, park plays, camping trips, snow gear, grocery hauls, beach days, swimming lessons and picnics.”
