IKEA to open Australia-first small planning studios
Swedish multinational furniture company IKEA is set to launch a series of Australia-first planning studios, allowing shoppers to plan their dream homes without the hassle of going into larger-scale stores.
Westfield Warringah Mall in Sydney will be home to IKEA’s first small format store in Australia set to open in early May, with a focus on kitchen and bedroom planning, giving shoppers access to an entirely new shopping experience.
The studio will showcase signature kitchen and bedroom designs and will give shoppers access to one-on-one consultations with IKEA workers to help them plan their dream homes.
Planning stations and tablets will also be featured at the studios, allowing consumers to effortlessly order items.
The studio’s design is inspired by the traditional Scandinavian modern, minimalist style and IKEA’s values of sustainability, quality, form, function and affordability.
IKEA Australia country manager, Jan Gardberg says the launch is part of the retailer’s bid to make the shopping experience more convenient for consumers.
“At IKEA, we know Australians are looking for new and more convenient ways to shop their favourite products,” he says.
“We’re excited to be bringing bespoke IKEA shopping experiences to Aussies around the country in locations that suit them.
“We’ve chosen Warringah Mall as our first location in order to reach even more Australians that live within urban areas, outside of the city centre.
“We want to inspire people to get creative and explore the possibilities of our range. The launch of our small format stores is just another way we’re helping Australians to create personalised and functional spaces within the home.”
