Hunting for George launches last minute Christmas sales push
The week leading into Christmas can often mark a slowdown in sales for online retailers, as shoppers are unwilling to order products online so close to the big day.
This was certainly true for Melbourne-based ecommerce store Hunting for George, which decided to turn things around by extending a Christmas lifeline to unorganised shoppers with a free same day delivery service. The offer runs from Monday 18 December until Friday 22 December and is available to shoppers in the Melbourne metro area on orders over $50 placed before 12pm.
Not only is this a great service for Hunting for George’s customers, it is a clever solution to help keep sales healthy during a traditionally quieter period.
The retailer launched the special offer for the first time last year and saw a 160 per cent increase on sales from the year before, so sales and marketing manager Jonno Rodd says it was a no brainer to offer the deal again.
“We traditionally see a slowdown in sales this week of the year and were thrilled with the sales when we launched this offer,” he says.
To make things even easier for shoppers, Hunting for George also has a gift shop on its website offering products for a range of budgets and tastes.
The retailer also recently branched out into bricks-and-mortar, opening an experience store at Melbourne’s Highpoint Shopping Centre. This will remain open until January 2018 and features a collection of more than 50 brands and designers including Hunting for George’s signature line of art prints, textiles and furniture as well as Uashmama, Pop&Scott, Normann Copenhagen, Armadillo & Co, Milk & Sugar and Marimekko.
