In a move guaranteed to delight customers that are more concerned with socialising than washing up, Govino has released a dishwasher safe range of its innovative plastic glassware.
First introduced to the Australian market in 2010, US-based Govino designs and manufactures ‘go anywhere’ glasses made of a unique polymer that is 100 per cent shatterproof yet looks like crystal. This durability makes the products ideal for use around swimming pools, at picnics or anywhere glass is not allowed.
The new range includes red and white wine glasses, champagne flutes, beer/cider glasses and a decanter. All Govino products are eco-friendly and recyclable, and the company prides itself on producing one of the most environmental wine glasses in the world.
Govino Australia is the exclusive Australian distributor of the products, and sales and customer service manager Lisette Malby-Luke says the company knew they would be a perfect fit for the Australian outdoor lifestyle.
“One of the directors saw them in the US while on holidays and noticed a marketing opportunity here in Australia,” she explains. “We now have over 100 retail stockists Australia-wide and we supply customised glasses for various festivals and events.”
The products have received numerous design awards, with the red wine glass and champagne flute both taking out the Silver medal at the International Design Excellence Awards in 2010 and 2012 respectively. These glasses have also been awarded a Good Design Award from the San Francisco Design Institute.
