Goosebumps debuts bedding range for adults
Kids’ boutique bedding brand Goosebumps has released its first adult collection, and the result is as cool as you’d expect.
The Down Yonder range, which includes printed fitted and flat sheets, and reversible quilt covers, came about after demand from customers asking for an adult line.
“We listened to our customers and have given them what they wanted,” says Goosebumps founder Inga Rodd. “It was a natural progression and we have many ideas in the pipeline for future products.”
Rodd says she used childhood memories for inspiration when designing the grown up collection, which is as bright as her children’s products.
“We like to have a bit of fun here at Goosebumps headquarters so it’s all about breaking the rules and mixing and switching it up to create an individual and fun environment not just for the little kiddies but the cool adults as well.
“Each design has a personality of its own and evokes a great sense of nostalgia.”
Goosebumps officially launched at Life Instyle Melbourne last year, after Rodd decided to start her own business that she could manage while raising twin boys. “At the time there wasn’t any colourful, bright, reversible bedding out there for kids that I liked,” she says.
“I started sketching, creating mood boards, and playing with designs and colours, then decided to take the plunge and find a manufacturer, and the rest is history. Things exploded and I now manage over 40 stockists around Australia and internationally.”
Running a business and being a mum can be a tricky balance, but Rodd enjoys it. “The challenge is time management and working most nights after the kids are tucked away. You’re the master of all trades when running your own business and sleep is overrated.
“The highlight is seeing your actual designs come to life and then seeing photos from our customers and seeing our bed linen in actual people’s homes.”
All Goosebumps’ products are 100 per cent cotton and designed in house in Melbourne, and manufactured in India.
