Global Sourcing Expo adds Sydney, expands into gifts & homewares
Global Sourcing Expo Australia has added Sydney to its 2023 line-up, with the event taking place from 11 to 13 July at the ICC in addition to the Melbourne expo later this year.
“We have had a number of requests from exhibitors and visitors to take the show to Sydney to service this vibrant and ever-growing market,” explains global exhibitions director at the International Exhibition & Conference Group, Julie Holt.
“We are expecting a very positive uptake for this new event.”
There will also be an expanded focus on new sourcing categories homewares and gifts, to add to the traditional product categories of apparel, accessories and textiles.
“We look forward to introducing our returning and first-time visitors to exceptional new products and exhibitors, and this expanded focus further entrenches our position as Australia’s premier sourcing event,” says Marie Kinsella, CEO, International Exhibitions & Conference Group.
“In Sydney we are expecting over 300 exhibitors from over 10 countries, enabling Australian buyers to literally ‘source on their doorstep’.
“Sustainability will be a major pillar of both of our shows in Sydney and Melbourne this year as we recognise that as an industry, we need to come together to decide on a long-term sustainability plan that both major and smaller producers can follow to reduce their carbon footprint.”
Meeting manufacturers and suppliers at an event like Global Sourcing Expo Australia gives business attendees the opportunity to ensure their social corporate responsibility objectives are met. This is enabled by partnering with suppliers who have put measures in place to ensure a better environmental and social footprint, Kinsella adds.
“The Global Sourcing Expo gives brands and retailers more transparency into how and where the goods are made and gives them the freedom to explore the best fit for their company, all under one roof.”
A series of seminars will run over three days where visitors will have the opportunity to learn from industry experts about fashion, trends, sustainability, marketing, homewares, sourcing and supply chains.
The expo is a free trade-only event attended by importers, wholesalers, speciality retailers, fashion, design and retail brands, sourcing and fashion agents and trade buyers from Australia, New Zealand and beyond.
