“we are thrilled to be appointed the exclusive distributor of this iconic brand and expect the market will love the gift range,” he says.
products include a mug, coasters, notepad and speaker all featuring the iconic design and shape.
“a huge amount of work has gone into creating the product and getting them approved and you’ll see by the images the products are an identical replication of the actual product, specific dimensions of each cube, the colours, right down to exacting detail.”
the range has been shortlisted for the uk’s gift of the year 2011.
“rubik’s cube is just an iconic brand. it’s something that everyone on the planet recognises. i don’t know if there would be anyone in the world that has not played or used a rubik’s cube or has seen one. it’s just an iconic brand that brings back a lot of memories for a lot of people.”
king believes the products will be a good fit for his company.
“we’re expanding and growing our ranges across a number of categories including the homewares areas, so we thought this is a great fit and certainly would compliment our existing products,” he explains.
while more products will be launched at the august gift fair in melbourne, the current collection is already a hot seller.
“the initial feedback has been fantastic. we’ve found most of our gift and homewares retail stores have reacted very positively and are ordering this line, so we expect it to sit alongside beautiful design products in lovely design-homewares type stores.”
