Axis Toys keeps going from strength to strength, with another exclusive distribution agreement signed for Australia and New Zealand.
Established in 2013, Danish brand Fabelab is a GOTS Certified organic children’s interiors brand, which believes in creating high quality, innovative and responsibly made products for a cosy and creative home.
“Our focus is on eco-certified products that have more of a classic and traditional feel,” comments Paula Opfer, managing director, Axis Toys.
“And so to us, the Fabelab range was the perfect extension and development for our baby and pretend play offerings. It brings the magic of childhood and the practicality of play together in a wonderful ranging.”
Fabelab’s founder Michaela Weisskirchner-Barfod, has always dreamt of making functional, aesthetic, sustainable and long-lasting interior designs and products for kids.
The majority of the products are made with organic cotton from their eco-certified partner in India. Wherever possible, they use corn fibre filling instead of a polyester filling and try to reduce plastic waste in every way possible.
“When it comes to sustainability, every step helps to create a better planet for our kids,” she explains.
“Fabelab likes to think of each product as an individual, just like me and you, and being sustainable is something we truly mean. Making a difference in the design is not everything, but how the products are being brought to life is equally important.”
Indeed, Fabelab, which is made up of the words fable and laboratory, believes in high-quality products and innovative design. The products encourage play, experimentation and creativity. They believe in the power of storytelling and therefore the products always have a story behind them.
“We believe in slow fashion, not fast fashion, and every day we think about what we can do even better than the day before, and which changes can be made in the direction of transforming the company into becoming more and more sustainable,” adds Weisskirchner-Barfod.
“Always with the focus on wanting to help the world to be a better place for our children and the next generations to come to grow up in—this is the biggest dream for the future for Fabelab.”
