Enjoy the outdoors with eco-friendly options from Glass on the Grass
After making her gift fair debut a few years ago, Lee Drury, CEO and founder of Glass on the Grass, has come a long way since then.
Speaking to Giftguide at Reed Gift Fairs Sydney, Drury says it feels nice to be back after the Covid induced hiatus.
“It has been so nice to see customers face to face as well as have them touch and hold our products again,” she enthuses.
“We have not seen as many customers as we usually do, but it has been great to see the ones who did come. We have all been affected by Covid, but we love meeting people again and we want to be part of getting things moving again.”
The range of buyers has been mixed including giftware stores, garden centres, a few wineries and even a few professional picnic companies. However, one thing Covid has taught us, she adds, is to buy less and buy better and this is resonating with buyers and consumers.
“A lot of buyers are wanting to buy better and it is our aim to create the best products that are used year after year and not contributing to landfill.”
Indeed, Glass on the Grass products are eco-friendly as well as Australian made, two things that are increasingly important to discerning consumers.
“Our coasters are locally made in Australia, which is something we are proud of. We also focus on being eco-friendly which is increasingly important. We do everything we can to reuse and recycle.
“Our food covers—ShooFly—are made out of recycled water bottles and the weights are also recycled metal coated in zinc, which means you can throw them in the wash and they won’t rust. Our textiles are original and our coaster dyes are mixed in Brisbane.”
