After the birth of her two children, Melbourne-based designer Nina Altman realised there was a limited selection of stylish bed linen for little ones on the market. Inspired, she collaborated with her sister-in-law Karin, also a designer, to create the modern children’s bedding label Dreamers Inc.
With a focus on high end quality at high street prices, the Dreamers Inc. collection is made of 100 per cent combed cotton and includes sheets for single beds and cots, pillow cases and decorative cushions. Sourced and developed in their Melbourne studio, each piece features a high-impact image of an animal – including an orange goldfish, green budgie and fairy floss pink dove – sure to brighten up a nursery or living room.
“We started talks about designing a fun and elegant range of bed linen for children and knew we wanted to use the sophistication of digital printing,” says Altman. “The process of selecting a print is extremely lengthy, with a lot of trial and error to complete a perfect composition.”
The time and effort has certainly paid off, and the pair is pleased with the result. “I love the method of digital printing and how it helps translate scale and striking colours and is an artistic expression for our little ones,” she says.
“Dreamers Inc has been a dream come true. We are so fortunate to have such a solid partnership and collective vision. To go to work with a family member each day is rare and precious.”
All its products come presented in cotton canvas zip-up bags with a matching print.
