Design HQ joins Gift HQ in Brisbane
Queensland is putting the focus back on furniture and furnishing, with Design HQ moving to the Sunshine state next year.
Organised by the Queensland Interior Decorators Association (QIDA), the fair will be co-located with Gift HQ and run alongside the Design Trade Show & Furnitex, which will also be held in Brisbane for the first time.
For a number of years QIDA has recognised the need for a major trade show in Brisbane to showcase the work of its local members, including interior decorators, designers, students and industry associates, and felt Gift HQ was the perfect vehicle for this.
The association has worked with Gift HQ over the last couple of years at its Brisbane show, engaging decorators and designers to participate in a decorators challenge within a pop up room located at the fair.
“We are thrilled to be able to present a local trade show mid next year, and are excited to be joining forces with such a reputable trade show host,” says QIDA president Christine Gilmour. “The majority of the trade shows are in Melbourne and Sydney so we are excited to be supporting the interior design and decoration industry in Queensland through this event.”
Design HQ will showcase the best in furniture and soft furnishings from a range of Queensland based interior wholesalers. It will also feature a diverse program including workshops and product presentations.
“We are very excited about working with the team at QIDA to bring Design HQ to life within Gift HQ,” says Gary Fitz-Roy, managing director of Fair Events. “This is a great fit with the existing fair and will provide new opportunities as we continue to build and grow the Queensland Gift and Homewares Fair.”
Gift HQ and Design HQ run from 9 to 11 July 2016 at the Brisbane Exhibition and Convention Centre.
