Cheeki launches stainless steel range in US
Sydney based Cheeki has decided to take its products overseas and introduce them to US consumers.
In an attempt to crack this tough market, the stainless steel products supplier will be exhibiting at major US shows including the Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim from 8 to 10 March and the International Home & Housewares Show in Chicago on 10 to 13 March.
The fairs are the perfect platform to show off Cheeki’s stainless steel products to the US market for the first time, says Simon Karlik, owner of Cheeki Holdings.
“Supporters of plastic waste reduction are demanding more choice of healthy and sustainable products,” he explains.
“Australians are well known for their love of the outdoors and living a healthy lifestyle. We feel the US consumer will benefit from having Cheeki as a market leading product choice.”
Cheeki was founded in 2009 with a mission to create a healthy and environmentally-conscious alternative to disposable plastic food and drink ware. Its products are made from premium food grade (18/8) stainless steel, are completely BPA-free, have no inside linings and use toxic-free paints.
Bisphenol-A or BPA has been identified as a potential carcinogen that is found within many common household plastics including some baby and water bottles. A chemical used in the manufacture of plastics, BPA has been linked to breast cancer as well as reproductive and developmental impairments.
The company will showcase many of its ranges including travel cups, food jars and stainless steel lunch boxes, which only recently launched in Australia and were a best-seller over Christmas.
