Capra Designs expands with Rocky Road collection
Incorporating layered colours and textures, this new range from plant ware and homewares brand Capra Designs is perfectly timed for Christmas as it conjures thoughts of the fun and festive season.
While incorporating the company’s signature designs, colours and finishes, this collection adds new and surprising twists to some old favourites, says Capra Designs co-owner, Bianca Lambert.
“Colour is evolutionary and therefore palettes slowly change from collection to collection rather than being re-invented,” she says.
“The palette always sways closer to the warm side as I am drawn to warm colours.”
Another standout feature in the new range is brushed brass, which has been part of previous Capra Designs’ collections but is really making a statement in this latest line.
“The plant stands and hangers are now available in matt white, matt black and brushed brass. The flat finishes ensure a modern yet timeless look. The handmade resin pots have maintained an impactful punch of colour and now feature a terrazzo style and are available in larger sizes.
“The terrazzo range spans from plant wares to homewares with new coasters/trivets and clocks also now available in this speckled goodness.”
Capra Designs’ latest collection also includes a debut textile range developed in collaboration with Byron Bay textile designer, Anna Sassi.
“[Capra Designs co-founder Thomas Wilson] and Anna have been friends for at least 15 years while I met Anna in Milan, Italy in 2005… We found a common passion for textiles and have collaborated on a number of projects,” adds Lambert.
“We have very different strengths―Anna is amazing at textile design and colour balance while I focus on the design and construction of the finished product. The result is a striking and complementary collection which is both fun and refined. Each piece in the collection is hand screen printed on 100 per cent linen.”
In less than two years since launching, co-founders Lambert and Wilson have taken Capra Designs from plant wares into homewares and look forward to continued expansion of the range.
