Bright Wonders gives back this Christmas
Christmas is the time for giving, not just to friends and family but also those that are going through tough times.
Toy supplier Bright Wonders is committed to children and their development through play, and the protection of the environment in which they will grow up.
The company supports various charities throughout the year but particularly at Christmas, when they would like every child to have a new toy to enjoy.
“Bright Wonders is committed to the wellbeing of children so endeavours to make charitable contributions to non-profit charities that support vulnerable children,” says owner Teresa Roos.
“Grass root charities that make a real difference to the people they touch.”
This Christmas, Bright Wonders has donated over $10,000 worth of toys to support local charities including BackPacks 4 SA Kids, which provides resources that contribute to the care, safety and wellbeing of children during periods of dislocation from home; and Puddle Jumpers, which is a non-profit, non-government organisation committed to responding to the social development needs of society’s most vulnerable children.
“BackPacks 4 SA Kids has a real need for baby toys which we helped to fill with safe, age appropriate first toys that encourage exploration and open ended play and can help babies achieve important milestones.
“We have also given plush toys to Puddle Jumpers that provide comfort, as a treasured soft toy represents security and familiarity and provides a strong sense of emotional wellbeing.
“To the Women’s and Children’s hospital we have gifted art and craft toys. A perfect distraction for children in hospital as engaging in craft benefits all aspects of children’s development and also gives kids a sense of achievement, which can help build confidence and self-esteem,” says Roos.
Every year, and not just at Christmas, Bright Wonders supports various charities with highly targeted donations. It also likes to support its customers who partner with various charities throughout the year.
“We find it so rewarding when we hear back from charities with specific feedback from their recipients saying that the item that we donated helped provide a little bit of distraction when they were going through tough times. We feel as though it’s the least we can do.”
