Breville appoints new general manager
Breville has announced the resignation of Australian general manager Jeremy Sargeant, who will leave the company on December 28 to take on a new role outside the small appliance industry.
Sargeant started with Breville as sales general manager over seven years ago before being appointed Australian general manager in 2011.
In his announcement, Breville Group interim CEO Mervyn Cohen commented that Sargeant has made a great contribution not only to the Australian distribution business but also to the wider Breville Group during his time with the company.
“During his tenure, Jeremy has provided leadership, direction, stability and guidance to Breville Australia resulting in Breville securing the market leadership position in the core kitchen category in Australia,” he says.
“On behalf of the board and senior management team, we want to thank Jeremy for the significant impact he made to the group and wish him success in his new position.”
Sargeant’s role will be filled by Mark O’Kelly, who was most recently general manager of luxury and lifestyle at DKSH Australia, encompassing homewares, watches and luxury accessories. O’Kelly has also held various senior positions both within Australia and internationally, including as managing director of McPherson’s Consumer Products worldwide.
