Big Balloon signs up as Australia’s Fireman Sam and Bob the Builder licensee
leading independent children’s entertainment producer hit entertainment and rights owners haven licensing have appointed big balloon the local distributors of popular brands fireman sam and bob the builder.
the company will supply the fireman sam character options range, which is based on the tv series and won 2010 dream toy and pre-school toy of the year in the uk. products include playsets, vehicles and figurines.
bob the builder toys will be available from january next year with the show enjoying strong ratings on abc kids.
haven licensing managing director tom punch says the deal with big balloon is a win for his company.
“we are delighted to sign this licensing agreement with big balloon,” he says. “the new toy range has been extremely successful in the uk and overseas markets, and we are confident big balloon’s strong retail relationships will extend the brands’ reach into new channels and provide a strong platform for growth.
“the timing is perfect, we have the new cg animated fireman series currently airing daily on abc for kids and dvd sales have grown 71.4 per cent, further demonstrating sam's growing popularity in australia.”
