Barcs Australia takes on Florence Broadhurst Accessories
Fashion jewellery and accessories wholesaler Barcs Australia has added Florence Broadhurst Accessories, a new category for the well-known and respected brand, to its portfolio.
Barcs, which develops and supplies accessories for most major Australian fashion chain stores as well as Myer and David Jones, was approached by the latter to partner on the design and development of the range.
“Barcs has a long standing successful relationship with David Jones, supplying multiple accessories brands so it seemed a natural fit,” explains marketing and e-commerce manager, Linda Boase.
“David Jones put us in touch with Signature Design Archive, who manage the Florence Broadhurst licensing and it went from there.”
The collection has been designed directly from Florence Broadhurst’s iconic wallpaper prints, creating unique and one of a kind jewellery and luxurious printed scarves.
“Whilst Florence Broadhurst Accessories is a very different business from our other brands, it still enhances and complements the diverse group of wholesale and consignment brands in our existing portfolio, including our own brand Barcs Australia,” she adds.
The artwork for the launch campaign was created by body make-up artist and fellow Florence licensee, Emma Hack, and Boase believes the new range will do well in Australia which has a great Florence Broadhurst support base.
“We are expecting an enthusiastic response across the Australian market, as our customers love bold colour in accessories and there is already a strong following here for Florence Broadhurst designs.
“David Jones has been a huge supporter of the range, with the collection being sold both in-store and online and promoted across their digital and social channels. In addition to the overwhelmingly positive feedback we have had from our Australian sales agents, we have also had great feedback from the US markets, particularly on the boxed bangle and scarf collections,” says Boase.
While there are many elements to the Florence Broadhurst brand, Boase says for now the company is focused on developing and promoting the jewellery and scarves collections.
“Barcs Australia is an accessories wholesaler with over 65 years of proud history so any additional Florence Broadhurst products we may develop in future would still form a part of the broader accessories category. Who knows what the future holds though.”
