Art deco posters inspire new Finmark collection
The 1920s art deco trend shows no signs of slowing down with Finmark to launch a new collection inspired by the theme at Reed Gift Fairs Sydney this February.
Retailers can choose from notebooks, gift cards, manicure sets, mirrors, business card holders and travel diaries, which have been based on vintage posters and advertisements.
“Art Deco first came to our attention during the season of The Block in early 2013,” says Inga Carlmark, Finmark general manager. “Some of the posters and prints they were hanging in the apartments were beautiful and we thought they would transcend really well into stationery items and giftware.
“Once we had the idea, inspiration and themes seemed to pop up all over the place. Even when I was skiing in New Zealand they had the vintage posters hanging in the resorts and the apartments. We loved the designs from the start but looking around us, it definitely felt like the right time to release a product range into the Australian market.”
The new collection will be accompanied by a fresh look exhibitor stand for Finmark. Products from the art deco range will be displayed in innovative ways.
“From listening to what retailers are missing in the market, keeping up with trends and designs, attending the fairs overseas and using our years of experience, we are hoping that once this is all put together we can be confident in supplying retailers with some fantastic items that will be successful for their business. For a range to be successful both Finmark and the retailers have to be happy.”
