Aromababy founder launches new eco-conscious skincare
Anecdote, a pioneering Australian skincare brand, is making its debut with an innovative range of natural skincare products enriched with extra virgin olive oil and upcycled olive oil waste.
The collection showcases a blend of sustainable beauty practices and cutting-edge skincare innovation, offering consumers high-quality, eco-friendly products that deliver the gentlest of care for sensitive skin, says founder Catherine Cervasio.
“The brand’s commitment to sustainability is reflected in its use of upcycled olive pomace—a byproduct of olive oil production—infused into select product,” she explains.
“By repurposing this nutrient-rich waste material, Anecdote not only reduces environmental impact but also enhances the skincare benefits of its products, providing consumers with an eco-friendly choice that doesn’t compromise on efficacy.”
Anecdote’s products are not only about skincare, they represent a new standard in Australian natural beauty, she adds. The brand’s minimalistic packaging reflects its organic origins and commitment to sustainability. The visuals feature freshly picked olives from a premier Mornington Peninsula grove, designed to appeal to consumers who value both aesthetics and ethics in their purchasing decisions.
“By embracing upcycled materials, the brand reduces waste which may otherwise become an environmental headache and promotes a circular economy, all while offering premium skincare solutions.”
Created by natural skincare specialist and long-time organic beauty advocate Cervasio, who has spent three decades in the industry, Anecdote is the culmination of her passion for healthy, fresh produce after growing up in an Italian family. She cites her love of food, cooking and of course olives, to her Italian heritage and says the Anecdote brand is a way to pay homage to her late father.
Free from sulphates, parabens, propylene glycol, petro chemicals, artificial fragrance and animal ingredients, Anecdote shares the same formulation ethos as Cervasio’s previous consulting projects—she’s also the founder of natural baby care brand Aromababy—meeting consumer demands for eco-conscious, gentle products which are suitable for sensitive skin.
“By using upcycled olive oil pomace in this way, Anecdote offers a new approach to sustainability in the beauty industry, helping to minimise waste and showcase Australia as a pioneer in natural ingredient and skincare innovation.”
Anecdote’s range, which includes a body scrub, soap bar, face serum and hand balm, is available now and is perfectly suited to retail outlets with a focus on gifting or those which attract an eco-conscious consumer along with florists, pharmacies and beauty destinations which align with the brand’s mission of Australian made, sustainability, gentle care and innovation, Cervasio adds.
