Alperstein Designs expands Aboriginal dog collar range
A collection of dog collars from Alperstein Designs featuring the work of Warlukurlangu Artists of Yuendumu has been expanded to include leads and collars for larger dogs.
The decision to add new products to the range was sparked by popular demand.
“Dogs come in all shapes and sizes, but the initial range was primarily targeted towards smaller dogs,” says Marc Alperstein, creative director. “We received a lot of requests from retailers and dog owners who have bigger dogs who loved the product and were after larger sizes.”
Not only does the purchase of the collars and lead benefit the artists whose work features, but it also helps dogs in need.
“Since 2003 the art centre has also been running Aussie Desert Dogs which cares for sick and abandoned dogs and helps to find new homes for abandoned dogs.
“When you purchase a dog collar or leash, royalties go back towards the artist as well as to support the Aussie Desert Dog program. With the art centre and Aussie Desert Dogs working together so closely it made sense to develop a unique range of products for art and dog lovers alike.”
Based on the success of the initial collection, Alperstein Designs is expecting a positive response when it launches the new additions this February at Reed Gift Fair Sydney.
The wholesaler will also launch new Australian and other Aboriginal art products.
