BLUNT x Safe Space Alliance Metro umbrella launches
Known for collaborating with a diverse range of artists, creatives, brands and organisations, BLUNT’s latest partnership is with the Safe Space Alliance.
Safe Space Alliance is a LGBTQI+ led non-profit organisation that aims to help people identify, navigate and create safe spaces for the LGBTQI+ community worldwide.
Just in time to celebrate Mardi Gras 2022, BLUNT and Safe Space Alliance have launched the Metro umbrella, which is a safe space in itself, providing a barrier to negativity whilst celebrating Pride unapologetically through its bright, bold and illustrative style.
“Many in the LGBTQI+ community feel unsafe,” says director of Safe Space Alliance, Shannon Novak.
“They are subjected to violence, bullying and hate speech in physical and/or digital spaces. This continues to contribute to highly disproportionate rates of anxiety, depression, and suicide in the LGBTQI+ community globally, marking a clear need for safe spaces that do not tolerate these behaviours.”
BLUNT is also passionate about freedom of self-expression and personal style making this partnership the perfect pairing.
“With this collaboration BLUNT is proud to support the Safe Space Alliance’s vision to create a community free of violence, bullying and hate speech, and are a registered safe space,” says the company.
The collaboration umbrella is available from this month for $139, with $5 from every sale going to Safe Space Alliance and Australian charity Minus18.
“We are working hard to make a better world for the LGBTQI+ community by acknowledging, supporting and celebrating this community, in this case through a striking umbrella,” adds Novak.
