When the pandemic hit a lot of Aussies lost their jobs, however, it also inspired many to take the jump and start their own business.
To celebrate and further elevate start-ups and exciting new products in wholesale, Life Instyle is opening its New Breed Scholarship up once again for its upcoming Sydney event taking place in February 2022.
One lucky brand will receive a prize package valued at over $7,000 including a half day business coaching session with The Lotco, photographic studio session with The Lifestyle Edit and a stand at Life Instyle Sydney, something that was very much appreciated by previous winner TOO Designs.
The art and clock brand was launched by South-African husband and wife team, Thomas and Sureen Gouws, in April 2019 and they applied for the scholarship to reach more boutique Australian retailers.
“We needed to present our products to Australian retailers and the New Breed Scholarship was an extraordinary opportunity to do so,” they explain.
“With the amazing exposure the scholarship provides and the guidance of expert mentors, it is really the ideal opportunity for any start-up business to successfully establish themselves in the industry.”
Indeed, winning the new breed scholarship gave Jacinta and Alicia at The Little Potion Co the opportunity to meet and develop relationships with hundreds of retail business owners, showcasing their brand face-to-face, which is now stocked in nearly 100 stores across Australia, New Zealand, the US and Singapore.
“We were able to show and communicate the benefits of our kits to children’s wellbeing, and by meeting store owners and buyers it helped us to improve how we market and communicate our brand.”
