dog&boy launches spring summer 2020 collection
If you are looking for the ultimate accessory to add to your store shelves than look no further than the scarf.
According to dog&boy, scarves, often considered the modest and seasonal understudy of the wardrobe, are set to be the diva of the spring summer 2020 season.
Founder Sonya Michele says the brand’s new collection dares to stand aside from the sea of cookie-cutter fast fashion brands, putting mindfulness and emotion at the forefront of its design.
“Fashion is emotional, it’s all about how our clothes make us feel and I want dog&boy to make the wearer feel fashionable without being a slave to fashion,” she explains. “Mindful design is a core value of dog&boy.”
Michele aims to create pieces that tell stories through design; modern classics that stand the text of time, and remain relevant in wardrobes season after season.
“We are advocates of a curated wardrobe, and believe that pieces should serve more than one function. With this in mind, we feature our designs in alternative wearing styles beyond a standard seasonal accessory, particularly in the warmer months.”
Currently stocked in over 45 locations through the US after a hugely successful initial showcasing at NY NOW in February 2019, dog&boy launched its latest collection at the August edition last weekend.
The brand also featured at NY NOW’s first runway show on Saturday 10 August, consisting of jewellery and fashion accessories from around the globe and curated by Farai Simoyi, creative consultant and international fashion brand builder.
Simoyi is the founder of The Narativ, an innovative concept store and design workshop for global luxury brands. She is also the co-founder of BLOOM, a conversational site for female entrepreneurs. Her self-titled fashion label ‘Farai’ emphasises her personal standards and the need for quality and ethical products.
“We are incredibly excited and honoured to have Farai Simoyi curate our NY NOW fashion runway show at the Summer 2019 market,” says Kevin O’Keefe, EVP Emerald Expositions.
“Farai embodies the retail renaissance through her innovative concept store, design workshops, and her passion for helping to elevate other entrepreneurs.”
