Cole & Mason introduces new mechanism for its pepper mills
Cole & Mason is launching a new pepper mill mechanism, making its debut next year.
Coinciding with the brand’s 100th anniversary, the new Precision Mechanism will be introduced across a variety of its premium mills.
The new technology took more than two years to develop and after hundreds of prototypes the final version is now ready for the market.
“When designing our new mechanism, we had the consumer experience at heart,” says Kevin Whalen, marketing director for DKB Household USA.
“All our products are built to optimise flavour release in home cooked or prepared food, with a dash of elegant design. We are excited to introduce a positive, scientific result for all the sweat equity that went into the development.
“We will continue to strive to be the best in the milling category and bring our loyal customers the best possible product available.”
The new mechanism improves upon the current, award winning mechanism. They are designed for ultimate efficiency―40 per cent more ground pepper can be released with the same number of turns.
With the use of the latest technology in flavour release measurement at Nottingham University, UK, the mills have been proven to deliver more flavour from the peppercorn alongside the optimised throughput.
Cole & Mason was launched in London in 1919 and has been specialising in seasoning products ever since.
The brand is distributed down under by DKSH Australia and the new Precision Mechanism is expected in Australia in the first half of 2019.
