Two new ranges from Brisbane stationery label Fox & Fallow
After years designing wedding stationery and signs for couples across the country, husband and wife team Janet Pogorelc and Darrell Kwong decided it was time to create a ready-made stationery line.
The Brisbane-based pair launched their range, Fox & Fallow, in 2015 at the National Stationery Show in New York. The label is now stocked in over 350 stores across the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, including at big-name retailers like Paper Source, Anthropologie and Nordstrom.
Pogorelc says debuting at such a big show was “crazy, exciting [and] nerve wracking. Our first show was a whirlwind, but so fun.”
Now, Fox & Fallow is exhibiting at Life Instyle Melbourne for the first time, where the couple will launch two new collections—Dark Romance and Wanderlust. These feature everything from notepads to wrapping paper, greeting cards, notebooks and clipboards.
“We’re super excited to show in Melbourne for the first time and meet new retailers and vendors,” says Pogorelc.
“Melbourne has such a strong design scene and is so supportive of up and coming talent and is filled with some of the most gorgeous stores in Australia.”
Pogorelc spent over a decade working in design studios and advertising agencies before starting her own business, and says she takes inspiration for her designs from lots of different places.
“Fashion, movies and travel are where I get most of my ideas and then it’s a matter of research, sketching, painting and refining on the computer before the artwork’s ready for print,” she explains.
“The best thing is being my own boss and getting to call all the shots. We can act quickly and get things done without any red tape…
“It’s also super rewarding seeing our stores and customers respond so well to our products and designs.”
