Green theme for Quality Products at August Home & Giving
Quality Products will inspire retailers to add environmentally friendly products to their stores with their appearance at the Melbourne Home & Giving Fair to have an eco-focus.
The theme is in response to the growth in the Quality Products’ range of brands in this category. Its stand will showcase new eco products and provide retailers with examples of how these items can be merchandised.
“During the past two years the number of eco-focussed products that we sell has increased more than any other category,” says Lynette Gregory, Quality Products founder. “Environmentally friendly, useful products sell. The discerning shopper of today does not want to buy things that will just add to land-fill. They want useful stuff – preferably that has minimum impact on the environment.”
Brands on show include the expanded Urban Composter range, Ashortwalk, Haws and Burgon and Ball.
According to Gregory, consumers’ interest in green products shows no sign of slowing down as many are trying to be more environmentally responsible and retailers are taking notice. She says this is reflected in sales and overseas trade shows.
“There is a big move to eco exhibitors at overseas shows,” she explains. “The largest European trade fair Tendence in Frankfurt is holding Ecostyle in conjunction with their trade fair for the first time this August.
“This will be our 14th August trade fair in row. During the past two years despite gloom and doom for retail our turnover has increased by around 20 per cent each year and is still growing. It was about two years ago that we focused on eco products – strange coincidence…
“We believe the eco trend is just going to grow and grow, so we are expecting a big August fair and already have the new stock in the warehouse ready to ship out.”
Quality Products will exhibit at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre stand I:2.
